A Time Honored Church Gets a New Look
The large multi purpose room of a church was built in 1929 as the original sanctuary and has the original beam and truss ceiling and a stage at one end. The room is used for community gatherings, plays, and basketball games. The room was in a

The challenge of the room was to restore the original architectural integrity, update the HVAC, sound and lighting systems, and yet keep the room functional for a variety of community and church uses.
The linoleum was removed and the original Douglas Fir floor underneath it was refinished. The stage was extended an additional six feet into the room with stairs at each side to enter onto the stage. Storage was created underneath the stage for tables and chairs. The new curtain is placed behind the proscenium arch allowing the original stepped moldings to be exposed. The old paneling was replaced with custom panels to tie in with the original architecture of the room. New ceiling heat and air conditioning ducts were added, custom light fixtures were designed to allow for different levels of light, and theatrical lights and a state of the art speaker system were added.
